Could earthworms be farmer’s best friend for the season ahead?

Here we are continuing the theme of enhancing nutrient cycling for fertiliser efficiency and farm resilience (see our previous post). When it comes to this you can’t go past the humble earthworm! In the context of… well let’s face it, there is no bad time to have a free underground workforce feeding and keeping your plants happy and soil fertile. But in this present moment, with fertiliser and fuel shortages and price hikes and not a great seasonal forecast for many areas, earthworms might just be a farmer’s best friend.
