This month we have an offer for you! We ran it for the first time in July last year and had a blast visiting farms and meeting keen farmers so we’re offering it again.
Purchase at least 100 L of Biocast, and we’ll throw in a biological growing consultation for free!
If you live within 2 hours of Taree this consult will be a couple of hours together in your paddock. You will also get free delivery!
About this offer
With spring just around the corner, now is a great time to get your Biocast so you can be on the front foot supporting your plants. Use for seed starting, foliar and transplanting to optimise plant health and vigour. Set yourself up for the most robust plants in the district!
What to expect from the consult
Your consult will be with Island Biologicals founder, Lee Fieldhouse (more on him below). His favourite place to meet is in the field – walking your place beside you and sharing observations. If you’re too far away though it will have to be a phone or Zoom call. Last year one customer even used it to put on a field day with her neighbours!
Your consult might include how you can use Biocast to reach the goals you have for your place, what other complementary management actions you might be able to take, how you might be able to use it with other products you like using (or maybe how to use it to get off those products you don’t like using), and to get insights into how your land is functioning ecologically.
If you like, Lee can use the time to teach you some simple monitoring techniques so that you can feel empowered about assessing the health of your land. He can look at any soil tests you have through a biological lens, or suggests tests that might help you move the needle. You may want to bounce ideas about safe-to-fail trials.
For many people, the value is having another set of eyes looking at your land and another mind to bounce ideas off. At the end of the day, we want to help you learn your land so that you can confidently make decisions to help it thrive.
You can set the priorities for your consult at the start for whatever you feel would most benefit you in the time together.
About Lee
Lee Fieldhouse is the Founder of Island Biologicals, and our chief worm wrangler. Lee has been professionally vermicomposting for 12+ years, having moved from a career as a master carpenter. Throughout this time he has been researching earthworms, soil, microbiology and plant health, and their applications to productive agriculture. He has been working with farmers across the NSW Mid North Coast and beyond in a range of industries to improve soil and plant health and has run training and consulting in composting and vermicomposting, and in soil health. Lee has been personally mentored in regenerative agriculture principles by the likes of Dr Christine Jones, Walter Jehne, Brian Wehlburg, and Nicole Masters.
Lee is not an agronomist or agroecologist, instead he offers a fresh perspective on the biological function of your plants, soil and landscape.

“Last year, Lee and Kirsty from Island Biologicals offered a farm visit with the purchase of 100 litres of Biocast, and we jumped at the chance.
“Lee is passionate, incredibly knowledgeable, and entertaining. Although their product is fantastic, we remember thinking it would have been worth it just to have him visit the farm and share his advice and ideas.
“We took the opportunity to invite a group of like-minded local growers, and it turned into such a valuable day. We had people there with home gardens, homesteads, permaculture gardens and beef cattle, and everyone came away having learned something. We were able to network, share experiences, ask questions, and learn from each other as well as from Lee. It was all very last minute. We shared plates of food, had plenty of laughs, and everyone went home with fresh ideas.
“What I really love about this idea is that it isn’t just about selling a product. It’s about building relationships and strengthening the local farming community, something Brent and I value. Offering their time in this way showed us that Lee and Kirsty genuinely value sharing their knowledge and connecting with the people using their products. It made the whole experience feel much more personal than simply placing an order.
“I’d highly recommend taking them up on the offer. If you don’t need 100 litres yourself, gather a few farming friends or neighbours, split the order and make a day of it. You’ll not only share the cost, but you’ll also learn a lot, make some great connections, and have a really enjoyable day.
“If you want help getting biology back into your soil, getting your pastures pumping, building disease resistance, and improving the overall health of your plants, get on it! You won’t regret it.”
